One size does NOT fit all
Unless the application is identical -- and I mean identical -- in all aspects, a Uhing traverse drive that is your dream machine for one application, can be your biggest, worst nightmare in another application for which it was not designed.
Repairs to Uhing rolling ring drives
I get calls all the time from folks who want to repair their Uhing traverse drive. They want a parts list and they want to order the parts and do the repairs at their facility.
Accident waiting to happen
Was in Milwaukee last week seeing customers. Worked with the Amacoil rep out there who is very competent and a good guy.
My Uhing drive is slipping — therefore it’s no good
Uhing rolling ring linear drives are friction drives. If the drive you are using was sized properly for your application, and if the unit is in an approved Amacoil-Uhing assembly, then it won't slip as long as the application parameters remain unchanged. Hint: if you're using a silicone-based lubricant or oil the Uhing drive will slip. Another hint: if the screws used to hold the payload to the top of the Uhing drive are too long the drive will slip and/or fail to reverse.
