Reciprocating
platform for scanning operations

Shown
here is a reciprocating platform which was designed for vibration-free,
high precision scanning of barcodes on batch parts. Components
are precision-machined to limit vertical and horizontal movement
of the platform to within ± 0.001 inches. Platform
reversal is smooth, automatic and virtually instantaneous,
and does not require changing gear ratios or adjusting any
other controls.
Rolling
ring drives may be used to simplify machine design, set-up
and operation whenever reciprocating linear motion is required.
