Amacoil
linear drive units are available separately, or in custom
designed assemblies, ready for installation in production
machinery. The systems are used for a wide range of converting,
finishing, packaging and assembly processes including slitting,
coating, x-y table movement, re-winding, spreading and spraying.

Converting machinery
and packaging machines used to perform applications
like printing, scoring, slitting, re-winding, slicing, cutting,
spraying, coating often require a linear drive system
to move the tool head back and forth. Traditional linear drive
systems like ball screws and hydraulic systems can cause unnecessary
downtime and make operation more complex than needs be.
Tasks
such as changing gears, replacing bent piston rods, replacing
leaky seals, training personnel to operate complex controls,
and other repairs and maintenance procedures take time and
can require special training. Screws, hydraulic systems, timing
belt drives, pneumatic assemblies these are all hard-to-maintain/operate
components and assemblies in production machinery. They can
require the added expense of stepper and servo motors, controllers,
sensors, torque motors, encoders, clutches, cams and more.
Used
in converting machinery, the Amacoil rolling ring linear drive
system provides automatically reciprocating linear motion
control without the complex controls, components and programming.
Amacoil linear motion is backlash-free, and the only maintenance
needed is periodic light lubrication of the drive shaft. Additionally,
an Amacoil system isn't screw-based. The shaft is smooth.
There are no threads where dirt and debris can become trapped.
That means no clogging or jamming and no need to stop
the system to clean the shaft. Nor do you need to slow down
or stop the motor when changing drive head travel direction.
Converting and packaging equipment pays for itself only when
it's in use and an Amacoil system helps you maximize
uninterrupted production time.
