Can
I make a rolling ring bearing by machining a ball bearing?
We've had some Amacoil/Uhing rolling ring linear drive users tell us they
machined the inner race of a ball bearing, then tried to replace a worn
or damaged rolling ring bearing in their Amacoil/Uhing rolling ring linear
drive. The results are, more often than not, unsatisfactory. A rolling
ring bearing starts off as a double shielded ball bearing. But the inner
race of the ring (the surface which will ultimately contact the drive
shaft) is precisely contoured at Uhing in Germany using special CNC machinery
and a proprietary technique backed by decades of experience.
