I spray my machinery with silicone lubricant. Is this recommended for the Uhing drive? No. Silicone forms a layer between the shaft and the inner race of the rolling ring bearings and this causes the Uhing drive to slip. The only lubricant that should be used on a Uhing assembly is one which can be squeezed out from between contacting metal parts. The bearings must be able to "bite" the shaft without interference. Use commercially available ball bearing grease that is free of molybdenum disulfide (MoS2 -Free) and graphite. |
