Custom engineered assemblies are shipped ready for machine mounting in your equipment or production environment including bearing blocks, shaft extension, guide bar, adjustable end stops and other options as required.
In the Amacoil/Uhing linear drive, the rolling ring bearings are specially machined to create a dynamic surface on the inner race. This surface is in continuous point-contact with the shaft. When the shaft rotates there is no play and no backlash – even during reversal.
In a rolling ring linear drive system, the shaft is smooth – there are no threads. The smooth surface remains clean and clog-free because dirt and debris have nowhere to collect. No shaft cleaning means less downtime – better production rates.
The Amacoil/Uhing linear drive is a non-positive drive. The shaft is smooth and threadless which provides built-in overload protection. Unlike screw-based set-ups, the nut in a Uhing system will slip – not jam – in the event of overload. This protects other system components from the churning and grinding associated with screw-based systems. No jams also means reduced downtime for repairs which enhances continuous production rates.
Travel direction and linear pitch are mechanically controlled, independently of the drive motor. There is no need for programming and no clutches, cams or gears. This means simpler operation, reduced set-up time and lower maintenance.
The pitch control lever on the RG drive unit enables a 10:1 turndown range on the maximum linear pitch. Simply move the pitch control lever to change the linear pitch.
Simple adjustment of end stops is enabled via thumbscrew or lever. Allow quick and easy setup and changeover for varying materials and spool sizes.
An optional free-movement lever allows the drive unit to be manually pushed to any position on the shaft. There is less wear and tear on the drive motor and system components because it is not necessary to jog the drive unit into position.
Rolling ring drives require very little maintenance. If a Uhing drive is properly sized for an application, periodic light lubrication of the shaft is the only maintenance needed.
A wide range of RG linear drive sizes accommodate varying payloads and axial thrust requirements.
